Eve and Steve are long time residents of Maui. They met in Kihei in 1991 when Eve was on vacation. They spent months on the phone getting to know each other better and then Eve moved to Maui to be with him. Since they “dated” on the phone (before the internet!) they wrote a book called “Intellectual Foreplay: Questions for Lovers-and-Lovers to Be”, which is a provocative title for a practical tool guiding couples to ask the important questions and explore values before getting too seriously involved. They have been married over 30 years. They are both avid photographers and all of the photos on this site where taken by them.
Steve owned and operated a scuba diving charter business and Eve was a school teacher. Eventually, Eve became a speaker and author of several additional books focusing on relationship and personal/spiritual growth skills and Steve became an underwater cinematographer. He has shot for Discovery, Travel and National Geographic. Eve also ran a retreat company, Heart Path Journeys, offering personalized retreats. They are now semi-retired and have transitioned to offering beautiful retreat-like accommodations in the hopes that the carefully chosen and beautifully decorated accommodations assist their guests in healing, relaxing, rejuvenating and adventuring! They take pride in offering excellent service and wonderful places to stay on Maui. Whether you stay in an ocean or beach front condo or in a lush jungle/garden setting upcountry (or both!) THESE ACCOMMODATIONS WILL STEEP YOU IN TRANQUIL BEAUTY AND HELP TO HEAL ANY NATURE DEFICIT DISORDER!
Eve and Steve now live in Makawao and Eve runs a non-profit (Divine Nature Alliance) which sponsors The Sacred Garden –a peaceful sanctuary and nursery open 7 days a week, free to the public 9-5. The Sacred Garden has two labyrinths, meditation gardens, and water gardens.
Eve also offers customized small group retreats on personal and spiritual growth, labyrinth walking and facilitation. She offers a free, full moon labyrinth walk at The Sacred Garden every month. Come!
